MedStar – Recent Advances in Heart Valve Disease

Heart disease continues to be the leading worldwide cause of death, even though an estimated that 80% of heart disease is preventable. Unfortunately, many people do not take preventive steps and may be unaware of the signs and symptoms of various cardiac conditions–missing opportunities for early intervention. During Heart Month this February, at MedStar Health, we offer a variety of educational opportunities including a series of “Facebook Live” events featuring panels of cardiovascular experts. This year’s topics to be covered are women and heart disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation/heart rhythm disorders, and heart valve disease. Information is presented in a question-and-answer format. There is no charge to participants. Each event will be recorded and posted to the MedStar Health Facebook page for those unable to view the live event.
